At 7pm last night, an oil pipe burst in Jinzhou Development Zone, Dalian, Liaoning Province. Crude emerged onto ground surface from water pipeline under ground. Crude flew to downstream and caused secondary fire. Large numbers of fire engines reached to scene to rescue after the accident.
The accident happened near Tieshan Zhong Road, Jinzhou Development Zone, Dalian. It is doubted that a construction company broke an oil pipe of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation) during construction while CNPC showed that the oil pipe burst. The accident resulted to black crude flowing over into lower section and forming to a crude river. More than 20 fire engines reached for rescue, using foams to attenuate crude. There were at least 3 origins of fire and the fire behavior was serious.
It was reported that CNPC had already closed the whole leakage oil pipe. Traffic Police Department in development zone sent more than 30 traffic policemen to block all of roads to Tieshan Zhong Road. A large number of river sands were transferred from a near sandpit to cover crude. A photo showed that the clearing was carried out there. A video published on the Internet showed clear flames.
It was reported that crude came out to surface after explosion. Firemen reached to the scene, utilizing foams or sands to cover crude in case of explosion. However, crude flew to downstream causing secondary fire. All of fire engines reached there for reinforcement. The fire behavior was fierce.
