The followings are the categories of valves which are widely used in chemical industry.

 

1. Chemical fiber

Chemical fiber products are mainly classified into terylene, acrylic and vinylon. The valves used for producing chemical fiber are ball valves and jacketed valves (jacketed ball valves, jacket gate valves and jacketed globe valves).

 

2. Acrylonitrile 

Valves used for plants to manufacture acrylonitrile should conform to API standard. Valves are mainly gate valves, globe valves, check valves, ball valves, drain valves, needle valves and plug valves. Among that, gate vales account for about 75% of total quantity. 

 

3. Synthesis ammonia 

Purification methods and technological processes of synthesis ammonia are different. So synthesis ammonia requires valves having different performances. In China, valves used for synthesis ammonia plants are mainly gate valves, globe valves, check valves, drain valves, butterfly valves, ball valves, diaphragm valves, control valves, needle valves, safety valves, high or low temperature valves. Among that, globe valves account for 53.4% of total usage, gate valves accounting for 25.1%, drain valves accounting for 7.7%, safety valves accounting for 2.4%, control valves, low temperature valves and other types of valves accounting for 11.4%.

 

4. Ethylene

Ethylene plant is tap plant in petrochemical industry. It demands various types of valves. Gate valves, globe valves, check valves, lift ball valves account for the most. Among that, gate valves have the largest usage. During the tenth five-year plan, China also need to establish 6 ethylene plants whose annual output reaches as much as 6.6 six hundred tons. The valves demands are considerable. More over, large ethylene plant and high pressure polythene plant also require ultra high temperature, ultra low temperature and ultra high pressure valve products. 

 

5. Air separation device

Air separation devices means that the device can separate air. Valves mainly used in the device include globe valves, safety valves, check valves, control valves, ball valves, butterfly valves and low temperature valves.
