When inject greases into oxygen globe valves, the position of switch on valves needs to be paid attention. In general, ball valves are always turned on during maintenance. Under particular situation, ball valves should be closed for maintenance. Other types of valves cannot be dealt with based the position of switch. Gate valves must be closed when being maintained, ensuring lubricating greases fulfilling sealing grooves along the sealing ring. If switch is on position, sealing greases fall into passageway or cage directly, resulting in waste. 

 

Greases injection and maintenance of oxygen globe valves

1. Maintenance is to extend service life of oxygen globe valves and ensure reliable on-off.

2. Screw threads of stem rub with nut of stem frequently. So, screw threads should be coated with a bit of yellow glycerinum, molybdenum disulfide or graphite powder for lubrication. 

3. If copper internal thread globe valves do not turn on-off usually, the handwheel should be turned terminally. Screw threads of stem are added with lubricants in case of being blocked.    

4. For outdoor oxygen globe valves, the stem should be added with protective jacket in case of being tarnished by rain, snow or dust. 

5. If the valves are machinery to move, lubricating oil should be added into gear box on time.

6. The clean on valves should be kept. 

7. Integrity of components for oxygen globe valves should be checked and kept frequently. If retaining nuts on handwheel fall off, the nuts should be assorted and the nuts cannot be used passably. Otherwise, nuts will wear the top of stem, gradually result in cooperating reliability being lost gradually, or even the valves cannot turn on any more. 

8. Oxygen globe valves cannot be used for supporting other weights. Standing on oxygen globe valves is also not allowed. 

9. Stems, especially screw threads should be wiped regularly. Lubricating agents which have been polluted by dust must be changed. Because of dust contains hard sundries which can wear screw threads and surface of stem easily and influence service life.
