Mexico Will Build up Infrastructures with the U.S.

Under the circumstance that Mexico carried out new energy reform, PEMEX signed a memorandum of understanding about gas transmission with NuStar Energy
PMI, belongs to PEMEX will establish a joint venture company jointly with NuStar, which will transmit gas from the U.S. to the northern of Mexico to meet the demands for gas and oil in the region.
Jose Kalela, the General Manager of PMI introduced that cooperating with NuStar was the first cooperation between Mexico and the U.S. on infrastructures under the background of energy reform. Although the two companies had already launched commercial cooperation for transmitting propane gas from the U.S. to Mexico, it was still the first joint venture company which engaged LNG business in Gulf of Mexico.
According to the memorandum of understanding, two sides will build up infrastructures jointly, including gas storage tanks and relevant gas transmission pipes. However, NuStar will own all of ownerships. Nustar will be in charge of operation of these infrastructures, transmitting LNG and other oil product made in the U.S. to Mexico. It is predicted that the program will began to be built in the second half of 2016.
It is reported that NuStar is one of the largest companies who engage oil transportation and storage in the U.S., having 14,000km of transmission pipes and 82 crude, petroleum products and gas centers. It carries out its businesses in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Netherland.
