Structure of electronic valves

Electronic valves have larger torque than conventional valves. The velocity that turns on-off valves is able to be regulated. Electronic valves have the advantages of simple structure, convenient maintenance. Generally, electronic valves consist of electronic actuator and valves. Electronic valves use electricity as power to drive valves through electronic actuator. The valves are turned on-off, and than the media in pipe are connected or cut-off. 

 

Installation of electronic valves

Electronic valves are indispensable devices to realize programmable control, automatic control and remote control of valves. The whole process is under the control of stroke, torque and axial thrust. Operating characteristics and utilization of electronic valves depend on categories, specification and position on pipes or equipments. Nevertheless, choosing the right electronic valves plays a key role in case of overload (working torque higher than controlling torque). In general, choosing electronic valves is based on the following bases.  

 

Operating torque is the most important coefficient when choosing electronic valves. Output torque of electronic actuator should be 1.2 to 1.5 times of the maximum operating torque of valves. 

 

Host structure operating electronic valves has two categories. One is structure which is not equipped with thrust disc and outputs torque directly. The other one is structure equipped with thrust disc. Output torque is converted into output thrust by stem nuts inside thrust disc. 

 

Revolutions of output shaft are relative to nominal diameter of valves, thread pitch of stem and quantity of thread heads. 

Calculation formula:

M＝H/ZS

M: Total revolutions that electronic actuator should meet.

H: Height that valves open.

S: Screw pitch of transmission threads on stem. 

Z: Quantity of thread heads on stem.
