Correct and effective maintenance can protect butt-welded globe vale, making the valve function normally and lengthening service life.

 

The following tips should be considered when injecting grease into butt-welded globe valve.

 

1. During injection, amount of grease is usually ignored. During injection, two situations may occur. One is insufficient grease injection. Wear on sealing face is accelerated due to lack of lubricants. The other is excessive grease injection. Wastage is caused. Sealing capacity can be worked out based on dimensions and categories of butt-welded globe valve. Then inject moderate grease into the valve. 

2. During injection, pressure is often neglected. During operation, injection pressure shows peak valley variation regularly. Pressure too low, sealing may leak or lose efficacy. Pressure too high, grease injection mouth may be blocked. Lipids inside sealing are hardened and sealing ring locks with vale ball or disc. Sealing models and materials also have impact on grease injection pressure. Different sealing forms require different grease injection pressure. In general, injection pressure on hard seal is higher than that on soft seal.  

3. On-off of valve should be noticed. 

4. Effect of grease injection is also overlooked. For ensuring effect of grease injection, valve is opened or closed to check effect of lubrication, confirming that surface of valve ball or disc is lubricated equably.  

5. During injection, body drain contamination and plug pressure relief also need to be considered. After pressure test, moisture and gas inside annular seal space also increase because of temperature growing. So, drain contamination and pressure relief should be carried out at first, in favor of smooth grease injection. After grease injection, gas and moisture inside annular seal space should be replaced adequately. Relieve pressure inside cage in time, ensuring safety. 

6. After injection, injection mouth should be sealed in case of impurities entering into or grease at injection mouth being oxidized. Cap also should be covered by antirust grease in case of rust.
