Pneumatic knife gate valve is a kind of valves driven by compressed air. Briefly, the knife gate valve is controlled by pneumatic actuator to realize on-off. Pneumatic knife gate valve can be divided into two parts: pneumatic actuator and valve.
The disc of pneumatic knife gate valve is made from stainless steel materials, having good shear performance, the most suitable for slurry, powder, fiber and other fluids which are hard for control. Pneumatic knife gate valve is widely applied in papermaking, petrifaction, mines, plasma discharging, paste, drainage, food and other industries. The gate valve has various types of seats. Moreover, equipped with pneumatic actuator, the gate valve realizes automation based on requirements on site.
Tips for using pneumatic knife gate valve:
The headstock piece of gate valve is a disc. The motion direction of disc is vertical to flow direction of fluids. The valve can be only used for full on-off. It cannot be used for regulation and throttling. The disc has two sealing faces which forms wedge. Wedge varies with valves parameters. The wedge disc can be made into an entirety called as solid disc. It also can be made into the disc which can produce micro deformation to improve manufacturability and compensate deviation of sealing face angle during processing. The disc is called as elastic disc.
When pneumatic knife gate valve closes, the sealing face should count on pressure of media to realize sealing. The pressure of media presses sealing face of disc to seat to ensure the sealing of sealing face. That is self-sealing. Mostly, pneumatic knife gate valve adopts forced seal.
